When The Church requested song submissions for their new hymnal and children’s songbook, the priesthood was one topic they specifically requested songs for. I think many people can agree we simply do not have enough songs on God’s priesthood power.
In addition, as a former Primary Presidency member, I had noticed there wasn’t a song that really captured the full essence of the new Temple and Priesthood Preparation event that happens for all 11-year-old girls and boys. There were individual songs about the temple and a couple songs about the priesthood, but no song that mentioned them both or how they relate.
