A Children’s Folk Song Needs a Guitarist

I am a pianist.  I write songs on the piano.  I also realized that our new Easter song, The First to See: Mary’s Easter Story,  is really a folk song – five verses that TELL A STORY.  And folk songs are sung around campfires, with a guitar, not a piano.  I thought of my son-in-law and how he plays his guitar for my grandchildren at night before bed and imagined them all singing “Mary’s Easter Story” (just a grandma’s dream….). I’m not a guitarist but my recording engineer suggested a fine young fellow named Austin Hagel.  After one ZOOM meeting together, he knew exactly what he wanted to do with the guitar part.  Once it was mixed in, I had tears in my eyes.  It just makes the song.  Thanks Austin, you crushed it.
