Friends, it used to be so hard to capture music onto paper! This is a portion of my mom’s handwritten notation for what would become (many years later) our joint illustrated children’s book and folk song, Mary’s Easter Morning. We had to revamp many lyrics and my mom wrote a whole new melody, but the essence was there in her first draft. When she first shared it with me, I fell in love with her line, “then, at the third day’s dawning, Mary went to where Christ lay,” it was just so poetic and beautiful. We can’t wait to share the final product with you in less than two weeks!
