This new baptism-themed hymn text draws upon the words of Christ in John 3, as well as events in Mosiah Chapter 18 where Alma, with the words of the prophet Abinadi emblazed upon his heart, baptizes many at the Waters of Mormon. A perfect new song for baptism events!

Born of the water and of the spirit
Due to a mighty change of heart,
We gather at the Waters of Mormon
Willing to cov’nant to do our part:
Bearing each other’s burdens and sorrows,
Comforting all who stand in need,
Hearts knit together, sure in the knowledge,
Through the Atonement, all are redeemed!
VERSE 2
We marvel not that all must be baptized,
As was our Savior, Christ the Lord.
Acting in faith, we follow His footsteps,
Knowing His gospel has been restored.
Standing as witnesses of His mercy,
All looking forward with one eye,
Humbly we walk the path straight and narrow,
Filled with the hope of eternal life!
